Getting rid of junk in Foley
How Foley's bulk pickup works
Foley sanitation picks up bulk items on the same day as your yard debris. Put them in a separate pile at the roadside by 6 a.m., at least three feet from mailboxes, poles, trees and the yard debris pile. Bulk means appliances, furniture and anything too big for the 96 gallon cart.
What the city won't take
No hazardous items go out as bulk: tires, vehicle batteries, paint, fluorescent bulbs or chemicals. The city has no landfill of its own; its sanitation page sends residents to the county landfill at 251-972-6878.
Big yard debris piles
Foley picks up six cubic yards of yard debris a week, about a pickup truck bed. Bigger piles cost extra: the city charges $400 per load over that, paid in advance. Mixed piles of yard debris and bulk items aren't picked up until they're separated.
