Check with the city first

  • Fort Myers bulk and yard waste days are set by area and can differ from your garbage day, so check the city Schedules and Routes map or call 239-321-8050 before setting items out.
  • The city says electronics need a scheduled special pickup, while Lee County says electronics can go curbside in county service areas; inside Fort Myers, follow the city rule and confirm with the Solid Waste Division.
  • Lee County disposal fees change each fiscal year; the county rates web page still showed FY 25-26 figures while the linked FY27 sheet listed higher ones, so confirm current fees at 239-533-8000.
  • The Gulf Coast Landfill in Fort Myers has closed, so do not rely on older directions to it; after hurricanes, storm debris follows separate city and county rules.
