Who picks up trash in Pembroke Pines
- The City of Pembroke Pines provides curbside household trash collection through its contractor Waste Pro USA, using automated trash carts.[1]
- Bulk and yard waste is collected separately by Eastern Waste Systems (EWS) under contract with the city.[2]
- Waste Pro is the city's exclusive franchise hauler for roll off containers, and homeowners can be cited if a contractor uses a non authorized roll off company.[1]
- For trash cart requests, replacements or service concerns, call Waste Pro USA at (954) 967-4200 or the city's Public Services Department at (954) 518-9000.[1]
Bulk trash pickup in Pembroke Pines
- Bulk and yard waste is picked up on your regularly scheduled bulk day, twice per month.[2]
- Each pickup is limited to 10 cubic yards per home, about the size of a standard 10 yard dumpster.[2]
- Bulk trash and yard waste can go in the same pile, but loose leaves and small branches must be bagged, tied or bundled.[2]
- Put items at the curb before 7:00 a.m. on your collection day.[2]
- Residents may request up to two extra pickups per calendar year, made directly with Eastern Waste Systems, for conforming piles over the 10 cubic yard limit.[2]
- After those two annual allowances, residents are charged $15 per cubic yard over the limit.[2]
- To request an extra pickup or a quote for oversized items, call Eastern Waste Systems at (954) 543-9800.[2]
- Accepted bulk items include furniture such as couches, chairs, tables and mattresses, carpet and padding, tree limbs and bundled yard debris, and non contractor lumber.[2]
- Appliances with Freon are only collected with a sticker and tag showing a certified technician removed the Freon, and refrigerators must have doors and the compressor removed.[2]
- Contractor generated debris, including tree removals, permitted fencing and renovation debris, is not collected; the contractor must remove it.[2]
- Glass of any kind and hazardous waste such as batteries, paint, oil and chemicals are not collected with bulk.[2]
- Hot tubs, boats, large auto parts such as engines and tires, and other oversized or very heavy items are not part of regular bulk service; EWS can quote a separately billed special pickup.[2]
- Keep piles off sidewalks, driveways and storm drains and at least 3 feet from mailboxes, trees, parked vehicles and overhead wires.[2]
- Do not put bulk waste at the curb when a storm is approaching, and watch the city website for cancellations.[2]
