Who picks up trash in Pompano Beach
- Coastal Waste and Recycling collects solid waste inside Pompano Beach city limits under the city's agreement.[1]

Bulk trash pickup in Pompano Beach
- Single family homes, duplexes and triplexes get bulk collection once per week.[2]
- Each weekly pile is limited to 4 cubic yards, roughly 6 feet by 4 feet by 4 feet.[2]
- Set bulk out after 5:00 p.m. the evening before your collection day or before 7:00 a.m. on the day.[2]
- Place piles within 5 feet of the curb line, at least 5 feet from a neighboring property and no more than 10 feet from the street edge.[2]
- Keep bulk clear of storm drains, sidewalks, streets and utility meters, and put small items in your gray garbage cart instead.[2]
- Accepted items include furniture, mattresses, appliances, yard trimmings and branches, and items such as wooden doors, fence sections, sinks, toilets and bathtubs.[2]
- Large tree trunks, stumps and roots, construction and demolition debris, auto or marine parts, dirt, rocks, sand, sod and hazardous waste are not accepted.[2]
- Residents may schedule up to two extra debris collections per year of up to 16 cubic yards each, for vegetative debris and household waste only.[2]
- Extra collections must be scheduled before materials go to the curb by calling 954.786.4030, and construction debris is not accepted.[2]
- Multi family properties, mobile homes, businesses and vacant lots may need an appointment for bulk collection through Environmental Services at 954.786.4030 or Bulk@copbfl.com.[2]
- If you receive a violation notice, you have 48 hours to remove the bulk waste or arrange an additional pickup.[2]
Pompano Beach trash pickup schedule
- Single family homes, duplexes and triplexes get garbage collection twice a week, and only material inside the city provided gray carts with lids closed is collected.[1]
- Your garbage, recycling and bulk days are on the city's Map and Collection Schedule, linked from the garbage collection page.[1]
- Carts can go to the curb after 5:00 p.m. the evening before collection and must be out before 7:00 a.m. on collection day.[1]
- Small yard debris such as coconuts, palm fronds, clippings and branches goes in the gray cart with garbage.[1]
- Full carts must weigh less than 150 pounds, and only city provided carts are serviced.[1]
- There is no collection on Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day; Coastal services carts on the next scheduled day and takes bagged material set next to the carts.[1]
- There are no make up days after those holidays.[1]

Run by: Broward County Solid Waste and Recycling Services runs the Broward County Landfill and lists it for both commercial and residential customers.[6]

Hours: The landfill is open Monday through Saturday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.[5]

- Residential customers dropping off waste in passenger vehicles pay $10.00 per vehicle.[5]
- Pickup trucks are charged by the ton with a $10 minimum.[5]
- Yard trash is $75.00 per ton with a $10 minimum.[5]

Hazardous waste disposal in Pompano Beach
- Pompano Beach residents' hazardous waste and electronics are no longer accepted at the Broward County facility at Copans Road and Powerline Road.[3]
- Collections happen 13 times a year, and with proof of residency residents can use events in other participating cities.[3]
- Pompano Beach hosted 2026 events on April 11 and July 18, and the next one listed is October 17, 2026.[3]
- Later 2026 events in partner cities are listed for November 21 in Fort Lauderdale at 2201 NW 9th Avenue and December 5 in Tamarac at 6011 Nob Hill Road.[3]
- Dates and locations can change without notice, so check with the host city's Public Works department first.[3]
- The city's acceptable items list, dated 2019, includes paint, solvents, pesticides, pool chemicals, motor oil, antifreeze, propane tanks and fire extinguishers.[4]
- That list also includes auto and boat batteries, rechargeable batteries, fluorescent tubes, CFLs, mercury thermometers and up to 4 tires.[4]
- Business or government waste, explosives and biohazardous waste are not accepted.[4]
- Containers may not be larger than five gallons, and the total may not exceed 25 gallons per visit.[4]
- Regular alkaline batteries such as AA and D can go in household garbage.[4]

- The city's 2023 bulk drop off flyer showed different Saturday hours than the current bulk waste page, so call 954.786.4030 to confirm drop off hours.
- The acceptable HHW items list is dated 2019, so check with the host city for what is taken today.
- Broward County Landfill fees and hours can change and storm debris rules after a hurricane are set separately, so confirm with the city or county before hauling.
