Check with the city first
- The City of Sarasota does not publish its bulk pickup size limits or special pickup charges on the pages we could read, so call the Solid Waste Division before you set out a large pile.
- Holiday collection changes are announced in city news releases, so check for a notice the week of any holiday.
- Sarasota County landfill rates changed on October 1, 2026 and the landfill is under construction through summer 2027, so confirm fees and expect delays.
- After a storm, the city runs separate debris collection with its own rules, so follow the current city alerts rather than normal bulk pickup rules.
We left these out because we could not read them on an official page when we checked:
- City bulk pickup size limits, special pickup fee and how to schedule
- Collection day lookup tool
- City holiday collection schedule
- City set out time and yard waste preparation rules
- Chemical Collection Center (South) hours
